Most people who use Bracketfield never create an account, and we never learn who they are. We take no payments, we run no advertising, and we sell nothing to anybody.

If you are a parent or a spectator

You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number. Nothing identifies you to us personally.

When you follow a team, your device generates a random identifier and stores it on your own device. We keep that identifier alongside the teams you followed, so we know where to send “your game moved to Field 4”. It is not linked to a name or an email, and it tells us nothing about you beyond which teams you care about.

If you allow notifications in the iOS app, Apple gives us a device token so we can send them. We store it against that same random identifier. Deleting the app, or turning notifications off, ends it.

If you run a tournament

A director account stores your name, email address, an optional phone number, and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.

Everything you enter about your event — teams, coaches’ contact details, venues, schedules and scores — is stored so the event can run. Published event information is public by design; that is the point of it.

What we do not do

  • We do not run advertising, anywhere, for anyone.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your information with anybody.
  • We do not take payments, so we never see card details.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you across other sites.

Who else touches the data

The site runs on Vercel, the database is Neon, and iOS notifications go through Apple. They process data on our behalf in order to run the service, and nothing else.

Children

Bracketfield is for the adults organising and following youth sport. Accounts are for directors and their staff. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and a player’s name appearing on a roster a director entered is the only way a child is represented here at all.

Deleting what we hold

You can delete a director account, and everything under it, from your account settings, inside the app or on the web. It is immediate and it is not recoverable.

As a spectator, unfollowing a team removes that record. Deleting the app removes the device token. Neither requires asking us.
